IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals braces up for well-oiled Rajasthan Royals in must-win game

After a big shock to their bid for a place in the playoffs, Delhi Capitals will be aiming to show more flexibility and resilience to beat Rajasthan Royals at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday. A place in the playoffs will be a possibility even if Capital loses, but all other games will have to be won and other results will have to go their way.

Capitals were disappointed with both bat and ball against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. Khalil Ahmed’s spell was the only bright spot, and he would be expected to hit the same length and create equal angles to destabilize the Royals’ batting line-up. And it could make a big difference if its efforts are backed by proprietors Shardul Thakur and Enrich Nortje.

Coach Ricky Ponting expects the batsman to take on more responsibility than he did against the Super Kings. The Royals’ well-oiled bowling outfit will be tough for them but patience and penmanship can help them succeed. Earth Shaw is set to miss another game as he has not yet returned from hospital.

For the Royals, Trent Bolt and the famous Krishna will be the key bowlers to be noticed. The win will take them to second place in the points table.

Spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal will face each other for the second time. If the competition is fierce, the differences between the mini-warring parties can be proved.
