Stanley Parable devs mock cheaters

The developers of Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe react to players who have cheated to unlock some of the most bizarre achievements in the game.

Stanley’s Parable is often billed as one of the most creative indie games ever released. It was originally released in 2013 to critical acclaim and won several awards, although it recently received a proper console release. Now Stanley’s Parable It’s available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles, and it comes with some pretty extreme achievements that some players have cheated to unlock.

Stanley’s Parable: Ultra Deluxe recently released for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X with some new content to check out and lots of bizarre achievements to unlock. Some of the achievements in Stanley’s Parable: Ultra Deluxe are joke achievements that the game practically gives away for free, but there are other achievements that will be extremely tedious and/or time consuming for players to legitimately unlock.

One of the most notable achievements of the Stanley’s Parable: Ultra Deluxe is Super Go Outside, which asks players not to play the game for 10 years in the real world. This means the first time players can unlock the Super Go Outside achievement in Stanley’s Parable: Ultra Deluxe legitimately it’s 2032 minimum, but some players have managed to unlock it by other means like changing the date on their consoles.

Crows Crows Crows, the developer and publisher of Stanley’s Parable: Ultra Deluxe, replied to the cheaters on Twitter. “You cheated not only the game, but yourself. You didn’t grow. You didn’t improve. You took a shortcut and won nothing. You experienced an empty victory. Nothing was risked and nothing was gained. It’s sad that you didn’t. I know the difference.” While some of the people who responded to the tweet are taking it seriously, he agrees with Stanley’s Parable‘s sense of humor and it’s probably just the developers poking fun at those who decided to cheat to unlock the achievement instead of waiting 10 years. After all, the tweet itself is just a copy of a famous meme where a Twitter user criticized a video game journalist for cheating to win. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

A main component of Stanley’s Parable It’s the player’s choice. Players receive orders from Stanley’s Parable‘s narrator, and they can choose to listen to those demands or go off the beaten path, with the game changing accordingly. It actually fits the spirit of the game for players to ignore the rules and cheat to unlock the achievement, although it might annoy purists who plan on waiting 10 years to get the achievement through legitimate methods.

Stanley’s Parable: Ultra Deluxe is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
