Genshin impact fan points out artifact drop rate issue with new Dendro element

A Genshin Impact fan shows how adding a new element can affect the drop rates of game-specific artifact pieces.

Genshin Impact is known for the variety of anime-inspired playable characters and many unique ways to build them. Artifact pieces have always been one of the most important parts of building a character, especially in the later stages of the game.

However, acquiring Genshin Impact Artifact pieces with perfect stats is nearly impossible due to the game’s multiple RNG layers. Adding a new element to the game would certainly have a significant impact on the drop rates of specific artifact pieces.

While there is no official confirmation yet, several leaks have already revealed that the new major update will introduce a new element to Genshin Impact called Dendro. A recent post on the official website Genshin Impact The subreddit points out an interesting issue about the drop rates of Chalices, which is one of the five types of artifact pieces that can be equipped. Chalices are a very important part of a build as they can include elemental damage as their main attribute. Redditor cLuckb gave two different variations on how the HoYverse can implement the Dendro elemental damage bonus into the drop rate system.

The best case scenario would mean that the drop rates for the two least desirable stats, percentage HP and DEF, would be reduced to make room for the new drop rate of 5% for Dendro’s damage bonus. However, the worst variation of the new system would include lowering the already low drop rates of the various elemental and physical damage types from 5% to 4.38% so that Dendro’s Damage Chalice can fit in. Genshin Impact players to gain a specific elemental damage bonus while farming artifact pieces.

While fans eagerly await Dendro’s arrival, the addition of a new element would also add more RNG factors to the game. When deciding which Genshin Impact artifacts are acceptable, players generally follow the unwritten rule of 3/4, which means that a tile is considered acceptable if it contains three of the four desired sub-stats. This rule is less strict when it comes to Goblets as it is hard enough to get the main stat correct.

According to various leaks, Dendro will arrive alongside a major new region called Sumeru. each of the seven Genshin Impact nations have their symbolic element and the game’s official story has confirmed that Sumeru is protected by the Dendro Archon Kusanali, otherwise known as the God of Wisdom. Kusanali is confirmed as the youngest of the seven Archons, and she is expected to join the playable roster shortly after Sumeru’s arrival.

Genshin Impact is now available for PC, PS4, PS5 and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
