Jadeja ruled out of IPL 2022 due to injury

Senior India and Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the rest of the IPL on Wednesday due to a rib injury days after leaving the leadership role.

“Ravindra Jadeja will not be able to play the next two matches for CSK as he has a rib injury. He has already gone home,” CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanath said. PTI.

Jadeja apparently did not play against the Delhi Capitals due to an injury to his upper body during the previous match against RCB.

Jadeja, who captained CSK in the first eight games, had an unforgettable season as he managed just 116 runs in 20 games at an average of 20 and an economy rate of 7.51 for just five wickets.

While the official reason for Jadeja’s unavailability is injury, sources tracking the development at the CSK camp claimed that the all-rounder had been dropped.

“There seems to be more to it. Jadeja has also unfollowed CSK on Instagram,” an IPL source told PTI on condition of anonymity.

When the CSK CEO was asked about Jadeja’s decision to unfollow the franchise on social media, he did not want to read further.

The CEO said, “I have no information about all these things like Instagram and Twitter and so I can’t tell you more about these things.”

While Jadeja led the CSK to six wins and two wins in eight matches, the Yellow Brigade has won three of the four matches since Dhoni returned as leader.

After taking over the leadership responsibilities from Jadeja, Dhoni claimed that the all-rounder had been told during the last season that he would be given the captaincy for the 2022 edition.

There was a subtle Dhoni-style message about the Saurashtra player not doing his homework.

At the age of 33, Jadeja is India’s senior star and a decorator in his own way. It was as if he had not been given a full charge during the time he was at the helm, a sign that he was seen fielding in the deep.

Those who have been following the CSK franchise for years have observed that if a CSK player is injured, he does not usually return to the field. Only those who have fallen into the dug-out sit. And Jadeja was in the dug-out for the record
