Elden Ring Clip shows a major problem with tracking enemies in co-op


An Elden Ring co-op adventure comes to a halt when a powerful boss quickly changes its target, showing the big problem with the game’s tracking.

The latest from FromSoftware souls title Elden ring has reached a wider community by simplifying some mechanics and systems inherited from older games, but one thing remains an issue. Featured in a new clip, a duo of Elden ring fans highlight a major issue with tracking enemies in co-op gameplay that results in their untimely deaths.

Reddit user Wotan69 recently posted a clip of his co-op adventures on Elden ring with a friend as they get close to one of the most powerful bosses in the game. Although the boss seems focused on one of the Spotted, the path used in Elden ring surprises the main player, who is attacked instead. Why souls games have bosses that cause instant kills in many cases, the troublesome path is responsible for countless kills beyond that player, with many voicing their own grievances alongside Wotan69’s post.

Wotan69’s Elden ring video shows the two players in combat with Malenia Goddess of Rot, Elphael’s final boss, Brace of the Haligtree. Malenia is considered one of the toughest bosses in the game, and the duo is methodical in their movements as the enemy soars into the sky lit with glowing fire. She then dives to the ground, quickly digging a tunnel to the farthest end. Elden ring player and attacks them. With one hit, Malenia is able to kill Wotan69 with the on-screen text reading “scarlet rot” and leaving her friend alone with the strong boss.

Despite Elden ring The co-op duo managed to lower Malenia’s health by about a sixth, the other player likely couldn’t keep going much longer after Wotan69’s death. It is currently unclear what is causing Elden ring bosses change targets so quickly, but this could be linked to the wide variety of strategic maneuvers they come programmed with. Considering how many Elden ring players admit their co-op battles resulted in equally unfortunate deaths, FromSoftware may update Elden ring improve enemy tracking in the future.
