Pokemon Home Update 2.0 Adding Compatibility for BDSP, Legends: Arceus

Pokemon Home will include compatibility with Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus in its latest 2.0 update.

Launched in early 2020, pokemon home served as a collection bank for pokemon games, spread across all generations. The tool was as simple as transporting a player’s Pokemon from their handheld devices to Pokemon Home and keeping them safely stored, as well as having the possibility to trade them with anyone around the world.

The concept was simple yet intuitive as players had the ability to bring their beloved Pokémon from many generations back and transport them into the new generation of pokemon games, as long as they were part of the game’s Pokedex. Pokemon Home also contained many tools that presented players with data they could never see before.

With the releases of shiny diamond pokemon and Shiny Pearl and Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon Home was due for an update. In recent weeks, rumors have circulated that a new update for Pokemon Home would include all the pokemon games, but gamers wondered when that would happen. The Pokémon Company has revealed that Update 2.0 is coming soon in 2022, allowing players to move Pokémon from Glittering diamond and glittering pearl and Pokemon Legends: Arceus for Pokemon Home, with some conditions applied. Until the present day, the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes, released in late 2021, and Pokemon Legends: Arceusreleased in early 2022, it received little support from the Pokemon Home database, but that is about to change.

The update also clears up the mystery surrounding Pokémon brought over from other games to Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Due to the nature of the game’s atmosphere and the unique ball designs being unlike any other, Pokémon transitioned to Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be encapsulated in a Strange Ball. Likewise, Pokémon transitioned from Pokemon Legends: Arceus inside Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will also be found in Strange Balls. Pokemon transported to Pokemon Sword and Shield will change to a standard Poké Ball. The news clears up any mystery about Pokémon ball shapes that don’t exist in the world of Pokemon Legends: Arceus while creating a certain level of prestige with the new ball type.

In celebration of the three titles being compatible with Pokemon Home, players will receive a special Pokemon after successfully linking each game to Pokemon Home. Players who deposit a Pokémon from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl for the Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Home will receive one of the game’s three starter Pokemon – Turtwig, Chimchar or Piplup – and will come with their hidden ability, obtained through Pokemon Home’s Mystery Gift on the mobile version. In addition, players who deposit a Pokémon from Pokemon Legends: Arceus in the Switch version of Pokemon Home you will receive one of the starter Pokemon from that game – Rowlet, Cyndaquil or Oshawott – complete with maximum effort values.
