Star Trek Online’s Stormfall update features the original actors and actresses from Janeway, Tilly and others in their latest episodes.
Star Trek OnlineThe latest major franchise update features many familiar faces and voices from the franchise. Star Trek Online Players who watched the shows are sure to now recognize Admiral Janeway and Captain “Killy” Tilly as they play through the game’s latest episodic content.
For more than 12 years Star Trek Online has filled a unique niche in the MMORPG market thanks to its sci-fi setting based on one of the most popular franchises of the last century. Taking place in the 25th century about 10 years later Star Trek: Picard, the game has players commanding their own Starfleet, Romulan, Klingon, or Jem’Hadar crews, both in space and on the ground. Taking place across a vast galaxy, including many authentic locations from various Star Trek media, the long-running MMORPG has been continually updated with new stories to experience, new ships to command, and lots of other content being added all the time.
Stormfall, the game’s latest major update, brings two new episodes to play, “Blue Shift” and “The Calling”. Kate Mulgrew reprises her role as Janeway from Star Trek: Traveler along with Mary Wiseman, who plays Cadet Tilly and her mirror universe counterpart, Captain “Killy” from Discovery. Star Trek: Deep Nine Space‘s Chase Masterson returns as Mirror Universe Admiral Leeta along with DS9 co-star Aron Eisenberg as Captain Nog. The Heart of the Storm event will see players fighting in an updated, screen-accurate version of Deep Space Nine, with new cutscenes, enemies and overhauled boss mechanics in the new Operation Forged In Fire Task Force.
Along with the new story content is the addition of the California Class starship from the Lower Decks animated series, which can be found in Infinity Lockboxes. Other items from the show, such as the Mandatory Medical Treatment rifle and Scorpion Cube, are available at the Lobi Store. The tutorial experience for the newly created 2409 Starfleet characters has also been revamped with a polished tutorial, UI, improved cutscenes, and better quest flow. Also with the update is the return of the Delta Recruitment event, where players can launch new characters that will unlock account-wide rewards as they progress.
Thanks to the revamped tutorial experience and Delta Recruitment event, now is a great time for returning or curious players to dive into the game and explore the final frontier, especially as the game is considered one of the best free-to-play MMOs. Fans of Star Trek or MMORPGs will find plenty of content to play with thanks to the game’s long history of updates and expansions.
Star Trek Online is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
