Motive and EA have revealed that the next Dead Space Remake will release early next year.
More specifically, the remake of the 2008 sci-fi survival horror classic will be released on January 27, 2023. Some Motive team members revealed this in a new live stream that aired today. Back in March, the team showcased new gameplay in a live stream focused on developing the remake’s audio, and today’s stream was all about Dead Space’s visuals. Right at the end of this broadcast, the team shared the official January release date along with the new gameplay.
You can check out the gameplay segment on the live stream below at the 1:18:23 mark:

According to Motive, this gameplay is technically pre-alpha, but the team said that the game’s visual and environmental team have worked hard to elevate this to a state they consider higher than pre-alpha. In fact, Motive said this is closer to the level of quality the studio says gamers should expect for the entire game.
“[It’s] It’s not ready to be released, but it’s getting closer,” one commented during the segment before another revealed that the team has recently completed its first full walkthrough of the remake.
As for when we’ll see Dead Space again, Motive said it anticipates doing a gameplay-focused reveal or live stream in October, closer to Halloween. This is the perfect time, as the January 27, 2023 release date is just a few months away. While you wait for this gameplay reveal, be sure to check out what the gameplay looks like shown in March.
