Fallout 4 player finds oddly shaped fire hydrant like Elden Ring statue

Elden ring has dominated the gaming landscape since its launch in February, and FromSoftware’s most ambitious game to date has captured the attention of millions of fans worldwide. It is not for nothing, then, that love for Elden ring is bleeding in other gaming communities too, like that of fallout 4‘s.

In a photo posted to the r/Elden Ring subreddit, user FlippinCactus shows a strangely shaped fire hydrant in fallout 4 which looks strangely like the guide and porter statues of Elden ring. While they couldn’t be more different in color and function, the fire hydrant’s shape is remarkably similar, featuring the same hunchbacked back and what appears to be a head and two arms.

The purpose of these statues in Elden ring is to guide players to the catacombs found near Minor Erdtrees. When interacting with the statue, a glowing blue trail will be emitted from its outstretched hand, marking the Spotted map and pointing the way to the hidden entrance. the hydrants of fallout 4however, they serve no purpose other than giving a sense of retro-futuristic realism.

One user, Danisnotonavan, comments โ€œNow it is is pattern recognition,โ€ referring to the cognitive process that links two pieces of information, sometimes unrelated, in the brain. This is a very common occurrence that helps humans learn and retain long-term memory. In responses, Twiggles69420 relates this pattern recognition to his own experience of seeing the statues of the gatekeepers and thinking of the prophets of areola. Other users continue to share the times they have made similar links, such as when user zipfern thinks of Elden ringwhen they see flowers or plants, or when user Ok-Supermarket-1414 has mistaken a supermarket hazard-sensing robot for a Virgin Abductor.

These experiences will show how completely Elden ring is in the public consciousness. An extremely expansive game that requires hundreds of hours of gameplay and a game loved by many, Elden ring no doubt left its mark on millions. And it may take a while for people to learn to forget about it.

Elden ring is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
