Genshin Impact Insider Claims version 2.7 will be shorter than usual

An interesting leak from Genshin Impact reveals that the upcoming 2.7 version will apparently be shorter than the game’s usual updates.

Genshin Impact has a very strict update schedule with each version of the game lasting approximately six to seven weeks. Updates are usually split into two parts that include two limited banner cycles. The continuous Genshin Impact Version 2.6 brought a new character named Kamisato Ayato, as well as two banner reruns for the Anemo Archon Venti and Ayato’s sister Ayaka.

The game’s official social media accounts previously confirmed that the upcoming Genshin Impact update 2.7 will be delayed indefinitely. Although HoYverse has yet to confirm the reason for the delay, most of the community believe it is due to the complicated COVID-19 situation in Shanghai.

A recent leak on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit reveals more information about Genshin Impact Version 2.7, which does not yet have an official release date. The Reddit thread shows a conversation between a fan and a trusted leaker who claims that version 2.7 will be shorter compared to the usual HoYverse updates. The change makes sense considering that to get back to the usual release dates, the next update will need to be shorter because 2.6 has been extended.

This is especially important if HoYverse wants its summer events to arrive later than expected. Like any other developer, HoYverse plans its events in advance, considering that many of them are tied to various holidays. Players expect these plans to include a major anniversary event at the end of September. With the entire Inazuma arc coming to an end, multiple leaks have confirmed that a new Genshin Impact region is just around the corner.

The release of a major new update is one of the most important events in the Genshin Impact‘s, which means getting the new region out on time is probably a priority for the developer. While most players expect this leak to be true, some responses in the comments section are unhappy with 2.7 being shorter than usual. This is due to the fact that they will have less time to acquire the two new characters that have already been confirmed: Yelan and Kuki Shinobu.

They claim the same scenario back there Genshin Impact Version 1.3, which is the only update that had three banner cycles, each lasting 14 days. Many players missed the opportunity to choose the first characters from the banner, Xiao, who was probably the most popular addition to the playable roster at the time.

Genshin Impact is now available for mobile, PC, PS4 and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
